A Year of Connection, Growth, and Support: WWECC’s 2025 Highlights

In 2025, the Wheaton/Warrenville Early Childhood Collaborative (WWECC) continued its mission of connecting families with young children to meaningful resources, trusted partners, and supportive experiences across our community.

Throughout the year, WWECC strengthened partnerships with organizations like Metropolitan Family Services, DuPage County Health Department, local libraries, and school districts to create welcoming events and accessible programming for families with children ages 0-5. From seasonal family celebrations to hands-on learning opportunities at places like the Morton Arboretum and local libraries, these collaborations helped families feel supported, informed, and connected.

A major milestone in 2025 was the expansion of WWECC’s developmental screening efforts. In partnership with the Wheaton and Warrenville Public Libraries, WWECC hosted multiple screening events and participated in community fairs to ensure families could access early developmental information in familiar, trusted spaces. These efforts were further supported by grant funding from the DuPage Foundation and Birth to Five Illinois, allowing screenings and resource distribution to continue into 2026.

WWECC also remained deeply engaged in community leadership and advocacy. Team members contributed to regional early childhood workgroups, facilitated parent education opportunities, and ensured family voices were represented at the local and state level. Through initiatives like community play dates, food pantry distributions, and partnerships with organizations such as Christmas Sharing, WWECC supported hundreds of families with practical resources and meaningful connections.

As WWECC looks ahead, the work of 2025 reflects a strong foundation built on collaboration, equity, and a shared commitment to helping young children and families thrive, today and into the future.
